User Agreement Due to the not-for-profit status of The Give Initiative, which requires everything we do to be open to the public and to the IRS, by penalty of law, you agree to use The Give Initiative services for the intended use(s) which include but are not limited to: (1) Help a Friend or Family Member (a) This service is strictly to be used to help an individual or family that is struggling financially and could use temporary financial assistance. (b) This can not be used to pay for services, such as payroll (in an attempt to get around paying taxes) or other things, not related to the non-profit purposes of The Give Initiative as stated in the articles of organization and other government filed documents. (i) All illegal use of this service will be punished to the fullest extent of the law. (2) Support a Cause (a) This service is strictly set-up for anonymous giving to one of the sponsored external charities or a donation to The Give Initiative for general purposes. Services By using The Give Initiative, you agree to the following terms and conditions and any policies, guidelines or amendments thereto that may be presented to you from time to time. Due to things like changes to the law or changes to functionality of this website, we may need to change these Terms of Service or our any of our policies from time to time. Unless you have requested a variance on these terms and conditions in writing with The Give Initiative, then these Terms of Service govern your use of The Give Initiative’s services. By accepting this agreement, you confirm that you are of legal age to have authority to accept these Terms of Service. In order to fully use our services, you are required to provide accurate, current contact, and other information as part of your registration. It is your responsibility to maintain the confidentiality of your account information and password, and are responsible for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to immediately inform The Give Initiative of any unauthorized use of your registration information. The Give Initiative reserves the right to decline anyone access to the use of our services by anyone for any reason we deem reasonable. Any misuse of these services will require The Give Initiative to seek legal action if we deem it necessary. Conduct All text, photographs, or any other information posted to The Give Initiative website are the sole responsibility of the individual that posted the content. The Give Initiative will not be held responsible for any personal information posted on the site. By accepting this agreement, you agree not to post anything offensive or obscene. You also understand that The Give Initiative has the right to edit or remove any content we feel violates this agreement. Privacy policy For more information on The Give Initiative privacy policy, please find the current version at http://thegiveinitiative.org/pages/privacy. By using The Give Initiative services, you agree to the privacy policy we have set forth. Termination The Give Initiative reserves the right to modify or discontinue (permanently or temporarily) services or business altogether without any warning or notice. The Give Initiative also reserves the right to freeze or discontinue a users account at any time. During this period, all user information will not be accessible to the user unless an arrangement is made in writing. The user may discontinue use of The Give Initiative services at anytime without warning or reason. Limitation of Liabilty You agree to hold The Give Initiative harmless, along with all it’s employees, managers, owners, board members, and corporate partners, of any legal issues that fall upon you due to any of your actions or use of The Give Initiative services. Your use of our services is at your sole risk. Some jurisdictions do not approve of the exclusion of certain limitations or exclusion of liability for incidental damages. Because of this, some of the above declarations will not apply in the “Limitation of Liability” section. You agree that The Give Initiative may contact you via email, web, mail or any other contact method to inform you of any updates or changes to this agreement document. All legal issues pertaining to this document will be governed by the law as set forth in the state of Utah, specifically the county of Salt Lake. All issues must be submitted within 1 year of the incident date or be forever removed from concern.
